Root’d Dispensary and Lounge is here to help change perspectives, minds, relationships, communities, states…one connection at a time. Root’d exists to provide safe access to and easy consumption of high quality cannabis.
In 2018, Rickey McCullough was awarded a license to open a dispensary through Oakland’s Cannabis License Equity Program. This program was created to help compensate groups who had been disproportionately punished under oppressive drug laws, prior to legalization.
Rickey had become an expert cultivator at a relatively young age, and after legalization was eager to help bring quality products to those in need. Rickey had a vision for a cultivation and dispensary business that reached beyond the benefits of providing medicine to cannabis consumers.
He wanted to manifest a hub for events, activities, and good times. He was aiming to create a cultural force for good, centered around the responsible sale and enjoyment of the cannabis plant he loved. So Rickey brought in a supporting team of experts and began the planning of Root’d Dispensary and Lounge. The rest, as they say,
is history.
